We've surpassed our initial expectations, achieving a 30% reduction in power consumption for lighting and heating at one NCC construction site, with plans to expand to a second location. This achievement reflects our dedication to sustainability and operational efficiency.
Reducing power usage with the Energy Saving Tool
We tackled the issue of high power consumption outside of regular working hours, often due to unnecessary use of lights and heating systems. Our Energy Saving Tool automates the control of these systems, resulting in significant power savings. Lars Andersen, Development Manager of IoT at NCC, confirms the impact: “Our automation technology has indeed reduced electricity usage outside of working hours by approximately 30%, validating the effectiveness of Acembee’s solution.”
Optimizing Construction Site Energy Management with Acembee
Acembee's advanced data collection and automation technology has streamlined energy management on busy construction sites. By automating controls for lighting and heating, we’ve minimized energy waste and provided valuable data for ESG, LCA, and DGNB reporting. Features like timers for heating containers have optimized energy use while protecting essential materials.
With new regulations set to take effect in 2025, including emissions from the construction process, every possible CO2 savings will be crucial. A separate CO2e limit of 1.5 kg CO2e/m²/year will be established for construction, pushing for overall emission reductions. Our Energy Saving Tool is designed to help the construction industry meet these new standards.
